Caramel Swirl Blondies
Late last week, I tried making these wonderful little treats. They were good, but I think I messed up. The recipe called for melting the caramels (with milk) in the microwave. I melted them in a pot on the stove, so I think, maybe, that the resulting syrup was too hot. When I poured it on the first layer of the mixture, it looked like it went straight to the bottom of the pan! It was difficult to spread the second layer of mixture as well. They turned out okay, but there was a LOT of caramel on the bottom! I will be making these again, before the girls go back to Cebu, and I think I will make a couple of changes. First, I think I will let the mixture cool before pouring on the caramels. And, second, I think I will the caramels cool a little as well.
